riddles
Aristotle tutored me
upon his shoulders i could see
beyond the veil of mystery
the swordsmanship and sorcery
through mighty scientific seas
by faith to the new world

riddle me that, riddle me this this
what kind of kingdom is sealed with a kiss?
what kind of earth can begin with a hiss?
where is the clue we missed?

i learnt my dignity from a black rastaman
he was wrapped in the skin of a white girl
i found my love of mystery from all i can
float down, place my feet on the real world

until the sense in the insanity
breaks down into the absurd
and I cry at the onset of forgetting

what are these breaking waters?
what is this invisible drive to life?
what chance to float on this incredible feather
and ride the winds of time?
this restructuring, redecoration of my inmost temples
is man the enemy of god?
or essentially god?

seal this light in my eyes forever
close the gates of forgetting
let me carry this torch to the alexandrias
and light the way for man again.
